As a shuttle driver, I am highly aware of the passengers energy. Usually, the vibe in the Van on the way IN to town is quite different than the vibe on the way OUT of town. Most groups on the way IN to Park City are upbeat when they are in the shuttle. They are on the tail end of travel and a vacation awaits. On the way back OUT of town its not so straight forward. Some are a shadow of their previously upbeat selves, while others seemed to have been enlighted by the skiing and are energized on their way out.
Last weekend we shuttled for a conference in Park City at the Sky Lodge. Synergy sponsored the conference for its sales people. Synergy is a network marketing company whose main product is called Proarginine. From the first shuttle, (Calgary) I could tell this group was committed to their product. On the way up one passenger had a great success story. He told how Proarginine had helped a man go from waltzing for 30 seconds to not only dancing for the full 3 minutes but go on for 3 hours. He closed by telling me it was his 117 year old dad. Nice effect. As the rest of the Synergy sales people shuttled to Park City I noticed, that while the level of enthusiasm may have varied, all of these people really beleive in the product. Its a drink mix that is supposed to clean out the blood vessels and make them more supple, that helps with hypertension, and about a zillion other things. It is good for everyone and it will add years and quality to life.
About 36 hours later we had to take them all back to the airport. I wondered what the group would be like on the way down, would they be hammered and tired, or would they be fresh and go-forward? Everyone I took down was going out to conquer the world. While on the way in they were high energy, on the way on they were ready to set the world on fire. The presenters must have been good. I have some samples coming in from Toronto. Strange I guess, cause they make the stuff here. A couple people thought it would be a good business to sell it out of my Van.
Shout out to J. Fry, Mike and Mike, Calgary, Los Angeles, Kansas City, Dallas via San Fran, West Virginia, Rhode Island rugby guy, Chicago paddler, New Orleans playa, Toronto, Mesa, Glendale, BC!
